Throughout 2020, I’m going to be reaching out to working pros for their expert opinions of their favorite products and then sharing the results!
So, the next time you’re looking for a product recommendation, check out our blog series and see what your peers love to use for their clients!
Next up…eye creams! We’ve got the pro's five favorites here…and they’re literally all top favorites since they all finished with the same number of votes!
So, here are the Top 5 Eye Creams, based on pro artist feedback. In alphabetical order so we’re not playing favorites, of course. Happy shopping!
Fine lines, puffiness, crow’s feet, dark circles. Our mortal enemies. Thank goodness for products like Hylamide SubQ Eyes Serum. The high-strength serum concentrate rehydrates the eye area to help correct signs of under-eye aging…like those bastards I just mentioned.
SubQ Eyes also helps provide a lifted upper- and lower-lid appearance—and who doesn’t love those lifted lids? Hylamide SubQ Eyes Serum does everything you’d want an eye cream to do—and for under $20, this needs to be a part of your kit.
First guacamole, now this amazing eye cream? Is there anything avocados can’t do? Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment is a favorite mainly thanks to avocado oil, which besides being delicious and super-healthy for you, offers a rich, emollient texture and contains omega essential fatty acids to help moisturize, nourish, and soften the skin under the eye.
Shea butter and beta-carotene also provide moisturizing properties to soften even the most sensitive skin. You’ll spend a little bit more on Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, but it’s definitely a solid investment.
Lumiere Eye Cream from Neocutis is another one on the high end of the price scale, but there’s a reason. It promises to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eye (thank you, growth factors), minimize the look of skin puffiness (yay, caffeine!), moisturize under the eye (love you, sodium hyaluronate!), lighten the appearance of under-eye darkness (you’re a miracle worker, glycyrrhetinic acid!), and soothe and refresh the delicate eye area.
So, yeah, I know I’m willing to pay more for a great product and I think most pro makeup artists would agree. Neocutis Lumiere is definitely one of those products.
This is one auto correct that won’t drive you insane by spelling all your texts wrong; in fact, you’ll actually love Sunday Riley’s Auto Correct Eye Cream because it instantly provides a lifted and depuffed eye area and works quickly to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. Because who wants to wait, am I right?
This formula uses caffeine and Brazilian ginseng root extract to work its magic, but there are a whole lot more impressive ingredients that work to smooth the appearance and enhance the glow of the delicate eye area. Cocoa and shea butter, lutein, watermelon rind extract to name a few. Sunday Riley Auto Correct is definitely a recipe for success.
Now this is something different! Not just any eye cream, Tatcha’s The Silk Peony is an eye cream that actually melts upon application to release a double shield of hydration with line-smoothing liquid silk and moisture-locking Japanese White Peony.
The result? What anyone wants from an eye cream…youthful-looking, radiant eyes!
IN CONCLUSION: CHECK OUT THESE EYE CREAMS!
Great list as always, everyone! These 5 amazing eye creams are seriously worthy investments for any professional makeup artist’s kit. Stay tuned…I’ll be sharing more of the pro's favorite products soon!
